Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services
Consistent with national Labour Party Policy, Winchester Labour supports the campaign by Young Minds to set up Early Support Mental Health Hubs. This campaign is supported by many other organisations and is supported by (at least two) local schools.
Rising school absences in the Winchester area, due to Covid-19, is likely to have a negative impact upon child and adolescent mental health as pupils struggle, under pressure, to ‘catch up’ on missed education.
The Local Government Association urges that Early Support Mental Health Hubs which allow young people to access mental health support without referrals should be made available nationwide to help tackle a rise in mental health issues during the COVID-19 pandemic.
