The Labour Party Candidate – Lucy Sims
Lucy Sims has lived in St. Barnabas Ward in Winchester for six years with her partner and two children who attend local schools. With an academic background in Sociology and Education, Lucy has worked on various projects as a research assistant, utilising her skills in listening, understanding and sharing knowledge to make positive changes in practice and policy. During the pandemic, Lucy has shifted her focus to use her knowledge and skills to help the local community which is and has been a vital source of support for families during difficult times. She became a parent governor and has helped the PTA to raise money in a Covid-safe way. Last summer, Lucy became Vice-Chair (Campaigns) of Winchester Labour and set up campaign groups for issues such as the Climate Emergency. If elected as a City Councillor she would put families and environmental issues at the heart of decision making.
